Got talent? Make money online
By Distracted | June 3, 2008
Need extra cash to spend on your date or the latest, coolest gadget? If you can draw, design, write, market etc then CrowdSpring may be the answer to your stay-at-home job. CrowdSpring is a marketplace for freee-lance talent. Unlike Elance, which charges a hefty fee to their users, CrowdSpring is free for contributors.
The process begins with the buyer posting a creative project. After the post, talented users contribute by submitting a mockup of their idea. The buyer choose the design they like and pays the contributor. The site comes complete with several features which includes:
- Billing process handled entirely by CrowdSpring
- Area to post your portfolio
- Ability to interact with other members via private messaging and forums
The main question on your mind is probably: What if I do all of the work and the client runs off with my design without paying me? Rest assure that you’d never be in that position. Clients who post are required to deposit the payment beforehand. CrowdSpring acts as the middleman, keeping the deposit until the work is completed. If the client chooses you, upon satisfactory completion, the site will release the funds to you.

Hulu: Watch your favorite episodes online!
By Distracted | June 1, 2008
Hulu is a website where users can watch full length movies and TV shows such as House, Bones, and
American Dad. The neat thing about Hulu (besides that it is totally legal) is that users do not have to download any software onto their computer. The ability to watch quality-formatted films is made immediately available upon selecting your desired show! So if you’re bored and need a flick to keep you occupied for an hour to two, head on over to Hulu.
Good: Free, no need to download, totally legal, new content is added every few weeks
Bad: Some shows only have short clips available
